The story of Professional's Choice started back in 1976 when founder Dal Scott broke his leg in a riding accident. Hoping to recover faster, he developed neoprene orthopedic products. This was the start of Dricast Orthopedics, Inc - what we know today as Professional's Choice. Dal had a passion for horses, so naturally, it wasn't long before the focus shifted from people to equine equipment. The development and production of therapeutic products for horses began in 1986, when the brand was renamed Professional's Choice Sports Medicine Products, Inc.

After the brand was renamed Professional's Choice, the research and development team began working on what is now known as the original Sports Medicine Boot. Since the popular Professional's Choice gaiters made their debut in 1990, the development of equine leg protection has continued apace - the latest being the groundbreaking 2XCool gaiters with cooling effect. However, Professional's Choice does more than just make gaiters for horses; for example, Professional's Choice fly masks have also become very popular with their great fit and beautiful patterns.
